Come and join our festivities this Monday 15th December. We will have a short Christmas themed meeting followed by a party down in the bar where there will be food, fun and merriment. Everyone is invited to do a party piece and there will be plenty of carol singing. A very Happy Christmas and a great New Year to all from Tralee Toastmasters.
Well done to Mike O’Donnell who won the Division round of the Humorous Speech Contest today in Cork. The standard was really high and Mike gave a superb speech that really connected with the audience. He had us roaring with laughter and thoroughly enjoying his speech. He now goes on to represent us at the District Final which takes place at the Toastmasters Titanic Conference in Belfast next month. We wish you the best of luck and are really delighted for you.
Our next meeting will take place in O’Donnell’s Pub on Monday 15th September at 8pm.
For returning members welcome back and for anyone who is interested in public speaking, come and see what it is all about and don’t worry as a guest no one is going to ask you to speak, unless of course you want to.
If you are terrified of public speaking you will be among friends here, that is why most of us have joined the club. I’ll let you into a little secret too, you don’t loose the fear you just learn to control it. Come and see for yourself.
Don’t you just love the Autumn? The freshness in the air as the temperature goes down, the colours of the leaves on the trees before they start to fall and best of all the beginning of a new Toastmaster year. Next Monday night September 1st we start back again in O’Donnell’s Bar at 8pm. So come along for a fun night out and learn some new skills and make some new friends. See you there.
Join us tonight at Tralee Toastmasters for poetry night, the evening that sorts the Emily Dickinson’s from the Seamus Heaney’s.
One hour of poetry from both members and non-members and after coffee, our AGM, where we will elect our new committee for 2014-2015.
And then there is the small matter of the winner of the coveted Tralee Toastmaster of the Year award – who has secured the top gong this year?
Come along to O’ Donnell’s Bar, Mounthawk, 8pm sharp and find out!
Join us at 8pm tonight in O’ Donnell’s Bar, Mounthawk for what promises to be a real cracker at Tralee Toastmasters.
We will have two excellent speeches from Lilian McMahon Breen and Rachel Pinckheard and an educational slot from Elizabeth Brosnan.
Holding the reins at the top table are Tricia Healy in the Toastmasters chair and Topicsmaster John McGillicuddy, both making their debuts in their respective roles.
Of course you can stay home and watch Eastenders – Ian is after all desperate to find the twins (or is it just desperate) – or you can come join us for an evening of fun and laughter.
See you at 8pm sharp when the gavel goes down!
A little Gaeilge mixed in with the English tonight at Tralee Toastmasters, as we salute Seachtain na Gaelige, with a bilingual Toastmaster meet.
Our Toastmaster Elizabeth Brosnan this evening is fluent in English and Irish and with Rachel Pinckheard in as Topicsmaster, it promises to be a barn-stormer!
Two cracking speeches on offer to boot.
Come join us on La Fheile Padraig.
Starts in O’ Donnells at 8pm sharp!
Forces beyond our control tried to sabotage our meeting on Monday.
As you know we hold our meetings every fortnight upstairs in O’Donnell’s bar in Mounthawk.
But as you can see, the storms wreaked havoc, flattening our regular venue. Yikes!
We will be holding our meeting downstairs, crossing our fingers and toes, waving at magpies and throwing salt over our left shoulders.
See you all there at 8!
Congratulations to Mike O’ Donnell and Anthony Garvey who made it through to the Area Final in the International Speech Contest.
Congratulations too to Elizabeth Brosnan and Vicky McCarthy who will represent Tralee Toastmasters in the Area Final of the Evaluation Contest.
